HI All,

I feel compelled to ask since this just seems to be too much of a coincidence. I manage more than 30 DNN sites across GoDaddy, 1&1, MyHosting, Autica/MidPhase and MyHosting.com that have all been going down in the past few days. GoDaddy's 4GH sites are running very slow, but DNN 6+ sites on 1&1, MyHosting and Autica/Midphase are all up and down too.

Servers on 1&1 have died and they've moved sites to different servers. MyHosting.com's severs are frequently returning 503 Server Not available messages, and Midphase is returning 401 Access Denied.

I have never seen an outbreak like this... which begs the question of whether it is widespread hacking, a bad Microsoft update to Windows servers, hosting mishaps... or just coincidence.

The only hosting company that I work with that has had no issues in the past week is Network Solutions. Not usually my first choice, but those sites are performing well.

If anyone else has been experiencing widespread outages across multiple hosting companies, I'd like to know. This has killed my productivity the past few days as a result. Luckily my virtual dedicated server is okay, and I've been moving sites there temporarily, and I'm sure you all know how painful that can be.

Cheers!

Yes, had a lot of hacking attempts last couple of weeks. One server in particular was open through WebDAV allowing writes, so that was found and closed and seems to have fixed everything.

I'm surprised to hear you are using MyHosting.com. I still have one site there, but moved all the others out after they failed many times to support DNN on the new "onCloud" service. My one site is using their "Classic" service. I didn't find much depth of support there for Windows platform.

I've moved several sites to LFCHosting.com which has worked out well, with good communications on any service tickets and prompt responses. My GoDaddy sites have been doing okay these past weeks.

a 503 can indicate that the server is overloaded, which can suggest a denial of service attack (DOS) - as theres a lot of SOPA/FBI/Anonymous related DOS going on theres a chance this may be related - in which cases hosting providers will typically amend their architecture to include an upstream provider such as akamai that can handle DOS-floods. It may be worth asking your host(s) if this is the issue.

Hi ... I have a number of sites at GoDaddy and all of them have had strange behavior and operate extremely slowly...
