Hi DotNetNuke Community

Could someone please help me. I am in the process of building my own registration module for DNN, and ran into a bit of a snag.

so far i am using the stored procedure in DNN to add the user to the portal. It all works fine when i use password format 0 (Plain text). but for security reasons this is not good.

I then tried salting the password, but this doesnt work. so my question is can someone please help me by providing some code or method on how to do this please. or does DNN have a function that i can call on to salt the password in a format that will work.

Please any feedback will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Bradley

I would not recommend doing direct database access - instead look into the usercontroller/Membershipprovider classs which contains the various methods to register, create users and authenticate logins.
