Hi ,
  Can anyone help me which is the recommended  dnn version to use?Is any paid version in 6 series or all are free version?
what's the minimum software requirements?All version run on Windows XP?

All community edition versions are free, the professional/enterprise editions come with indemnification, unlimited support and additional functionality and do cost money. Your webserver needs to have .net 3.5sp1 installed and you need to be running sql 2005 or higher - both of which install and work on XP fine.
