Since Saturday whenever I and others try to access our site www.kky-kp.org, we get this error page instead:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

The layout of the page hasn't been updated since 2005, unfortunately. How can we get the page back up and running?

it looks like there is some issue accessing the database - maybe the max size has been reached. How big are your database files, how many entries are in eventlog and sitelog tables?

I'm not sure how big the database files are, though I'm guessing collectively they're rather large. There were a lot of entries in the sitelog and eventlogs the last time I looked at them which was several months ago. Though I don't know how to get these numbers down without going onto the site itself (which is currently not possible).

it depends, which access options for the database your hosting provider offers - e.g.g we use to provide a tool in our hosting panel for our clients and others allow access using SQL Server Management Studio. You will need using one of these tools to fix your data in the database.

as Sebastian says you will need to directly access the database -I would then recommend you try "truncate table eventlog" -the wiki has a few other suggestions http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Helpful-SQL-Scripts.aspx or http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Performance_best_practices.aspx
