Hi folks,

I am just getting going on DNN 6. I am trying to switch from the Telerik editor to CK because that is what I have always used and have at least come to grips with my love-hate relationship with it ;).

When I look at the menu of the Telerk editor as admin or host I am not seeing an icon to upload an image. I go into the host config area and see nothing about that and I have looked in forums too.

When I try to upload the file http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/ using Extension manager I get an error message with the 'Upload New Extension Package. Is there any way to ftp the package in there? I am not seeing a Telerik dir in the provider folder like there used to be. Where does it go?

Here is the error I am getting trying to upload CK file, 3 times I tried - thanks, Will.

Maybe the timeout should be changed. See:

<!-- allow large file uploads -->
    <httpRuntime executionTimeout="500" useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" requestValidationMode="2.0" />

make sure to unpack the CKEditor provider package first - there are multiple install packages included for several DNN versions (DNN4.9+, 5.3+ or 6.1+), select the proper one and run the install. CKEditor will be configured using the link beneath the editor window as with FCKEditor provider before.

Duh - I usually explore a zip to see what it is in it before I try to install it in a site. That revealed the install file for DNN 6.

I have spent much time with customizing (F)CKeditor. It might be confusing for some to see those editor options that come up through host -> HTML Editor Manager -> default config -> and those are for Telerik rather than CK. Maybe if you have CK set as your editor that config page could say 'Set config with link under a CK instance' or something.

Many thanks,

Will Sugg

AFAIK it has already been reported to hide editor configuration in HTML Editor Manager, when a different provider is selected.
