Hello,

Does anyone know of a way to package a module - and adding some script to add a connection string to the existing web config file?

This is so the installer does not have to edit the web config file.

Are you adding a new connection string to another db instead of just using the one already here?

A few resources for you: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/XML_Merge.aspx

Christoc's packaging template (this is awesome): http://christoctemplate.codeplex.com/

Yes my application gets its data from another location.

I know, Chris's templates are really helpful.
