I created a clone my company's website in DNN 6.1.3 has a learning exercise. This includes my own skins.

The default skin is DarkKnight. I have totally removed DarkKnight from my pages and created my own. But it has created problems with popups when in Edit Mode. The popup normally appears when hovering over a Manage button. I have one popup pop up without hovering over its Manage button. I can make the popup disappear by hovering over the button and then away from it.

I have over Manage popups that have either z-index or opacity issues. That is I can see through the popup.

It seems to me, there is more to developing a skin than just for View Mode. It seems like Edit Mode should also be taken into consideration. I don't have the time nor experience to fix the DNN specific CSS.

It would be nice of the edit specific elements of the HTML could be styled by the DarkKnight skin and the content HTML itself be styled by custom skin.

Surely this has been addressed before.

With a little investigation, I've answered my own question.

I was applying my custom css to the Pane div (dnn_ContentPane for example), which also affects div.dnnActionMenu elements as well. I changed my custom css to apply to the div.DNNModuleContent element instead.

For example

Use #dnn_ContentPane .DNNModuleContent

instead of

#dnn_ContentPane

in my custom css.

Now my popups or Action Menus are no longer affected by my custom css. Hope this helps someone else.

Steve
