If I simply comment out your new function it does correct the issue, but I really do not like the idea of every user who uses a module with any other js library having to do this, perhaps it would make more since to comment this out by default and then let developers who desire this functionality and are not using any other libraries to uncomment it? Or are you using the $(element) internally in a lot of places now?

I am currently using this functionality, so the only option would be to make them both play nice together.  If you could provide me with a module or page that has the issue maybe I can find a workaround that makes everyone happy (at least everyone that we have identified thus far).

I would be happy to, where should I send it?
