Hi,

I'd like to develop a "Cart Checkout" use case. The starting point is that the user has selected some items in a "catalog".
(Note that this is not the idea to use or reused any existing shopping module.)

I've developped a checkout control that resquests some additional info before proceeding to the checkout action (which leads to an e-mail sent to the user).

  1. The user clicks the check out cart button (found on the "catalog" page)
  2. He's redirected to a Checkout popup window (using the standard UrlUtils.PopUpUrl(...) from the DNN framework
  3. At this time:
    1. or the user is already authenticated, therefore the checkout page is displayed
    2. or the login control is shown
  4. If the user is not authenticated, the login control is shown and the user can first register or he can login
  5. After the registration of the login process the user is redirected to the checkout form
  6. All this process is embeded in the popup window

How can I do that ?

First approach is to add a page and on that page add the checkout control, and to grant access only to authenticated users. So how to redirect to that page on the checkout button click (have to find the tabid ?)

Second approach is to add the login control and the register control to the checkout page. So how to do that ?

Any other third approach ? Maybe defining the checkout control as Edit mode ?

I'm worink around thos approaches since a week, without finding the right way to do it, so any help would be apreciated.

Eric
