Attempting to use ASP's FileUpload in the settings of my module, but after the file has been browsed to and selected trying to push the upload button I made causes the data to be lost on postback. I've read there's problems with the control if it's used within an UpdatePanel so I'm wondering if DNN pages have one already wrapped around it?

Also, does anyone know if I can control whether the user browses their own computer or the server instead? Would it be easier to use one of teleriks controls?

The module settings page into which your custom settings control is injected is automatically wrapped in an Upade panel so I suspect that is the cause of the problem. As for other module controls, if Supports Partial Rendering is enabled in the install manifest or when manually editing the module control's registration, your control will also be wrapped in an update panel.

I would recommend using the DnnFilePicker control as it allows the user to select from either an existing file on the server (and properly observes folder permissions as set in File Manager) or to upload from the user's computer.
