I have what seems to be the same problem as Roy. Windows 7 64-bit, IIS 7.5, VS 2010

I managed to get the project to load in the visual studio 2010 by changing the IISUrl in the project file from http://dnndev/DesktopModules/DNNExplained to http://localhost/DesktopModules/DNNExplained.

But the weird thing is my project is missing 2 folders compared to the one shown in the Chris Hammond tutorial video; Properties and References folder.

I guess this method didn't help as well.

Depending on your template (VB?) you likely won't see the two folders Roy.

Though, did you change your install to use localhost instead of DNNDEV? or did it just start working

Nope, I just change in DNNExplained.vbproj files.

So far everything looks fine and I could run the project. I just hope that this actually could work without any issue.

And by the way, my DNN development still run on http://dnndev

Roy would you mind trying to create a C# project and see if you have the same problem?
