How about a rss news feed module for just that blog category?

The blog module should really have better support for categories and the displaying of one, many or all categories on any given page. RSS in general is more complicated than it should be from what I've seen so far, but I'm usually able to manually add a RSS link if toggling the "allow syndicate" or "syndicate this blog" check boxes in the module settings don't work. Which they seem to arbitrarily not work sometimes. But if you add a "blog list" panel from the blog module, you should get all your RSS feed links and then be able to copy them and stick them in a header or footer or some place.
