I'm attempting to upgrade a site from 6.1.2...tried going directly to 6.1.5 with no luck, so now trying to go to 6.1.3 first. Still no luck.

I'm suspecting some sort of permissions issue maybe (??), based on the web host telling me that they did a Plesk upgrade a while ago that reset a number of permissions.

The problem, of course, is that each time I attempt the upgrade and fail, the site is trashed ("An unhandled error has occurred.") and I need to go through the process of re-uploading all the content and restoring (which does work, just takes a while).

Here's the most recent upgrade status report from 6.1.2. to 6.1.3. Any suggestions on why this might not be working and, if a web host/permissions issue, what exactly I should be requesting of the web host to get this to work?

most likely, the Windows account used by ASP.Net (as configured in your application pool) does not have create/edit/delete permissions for all folders in your web site or the temp directory.

My hosting company offers the ability to grant user accounts access to my root directory. See if yours does. If so, grant the proper permissions and try again. Also, see if the hosting company can have a recent back-up ready in case it crashes so they can restore it quickly.

They've told me they can't blanket the httpdocs folder with read/write/execute but that I have access to go in and change folders/files within that directory myself.

What are the suggested permissions? Is there a recommended list somewhere? I feel like I've tried to flag most things while testing, but perhaps I'm just not changing the right things.

I've got backups ready to restore - have gone through a couple attempts and needed to restore each time, so I've (unfortunately) got that process down.

Just tried again and went through the Plesk file manager first and individually flagged all folders for full control by the IIS User and UP User. The 6.1.2 to 6.1.3 upgrade seemed to run successfully!

Will try 6.1.4 and 6.1.5 next.

Assuming I can get those upgrades to run successfully, what are the suggested permissions after I'm done with the upgrades? Should I change anything?
