In Switzerland we have a de-CH code so all our resx files have this in the file name. Is it possible to remove the locale somehow? It doesn't make much sense to us if someone from germany with de-DE would come to the site needing a different set of resx files with the mostly same translations.

Ideally I would like to just specify the language and not worry about locale at all. Is this possible?

if soneone with de-DE preference enters your site, he will get the most appropriate language, de-CH in your case.

Click "Admin - Language" , then uncheck "Enable Browser Language Detection?" option will ignore user browser language settings.

disabling language detection is not the desired solution, if you want "German (Switzerland)" for all German speaking visitors, French (Switzerland) for all French speaking visitors and English for all others.
