Currently I have a few sites running DNN. I want to change the registration process to require a unique email. When I update the web.config file it causes an error and will not allow me to log in.  Is this because there are duplicate emails already in the database?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Doug

You can try execute below sql to see if there are duplicate email exist on your database:

     SELECT   *
     FROM         aspnet_Membership
    WHERE     (Email IN
                          (SELECT     Email
                            FROM          aspnet_Membership
                            GROUP BY Email

                            HAVING      (COUNT(Email) > 1)))

AFAIR changeing that value does not cause an issue even if there are duplicate email addresses - it simply stops the users with duplicate emails from logging in (so the previous sql script is definately very handy) - please post the exception that youre seeing as it may be something else (also, please ensure you're editing the attribute and not the comment describing the attribute(
