Please don't give me a hard time for where ever this post ends up.  I have wasted days trying to fix the problem I'm having with the way my company's intranet portal is displaying ever since we upgraded to 6.1.4.

I have read numerous posts and have tried everything I've read to fix this problem and nothing is working.

The site looks perfect in Firefox but in IE8, when I log in as an administrator to do work, all the admin menus are overlapping/underneath/overlaying whatever (I can't even tell what is happening) the module titles.  Also, on the site settings page all the drop down boxes are whacked out of place.

I am using a standard DNN skin.

Yes, I have tried adding the compatibility mode line to the meta tags on default.aspx.

I have added the z-index change to every css I can find - skins, containers, default, portal, etc etc (countless posts say to update it in 50 different places).

I have done so much other stuff that I have lost track of what I am even doing.

This is so frustrating and there doesn't seem to be a clear cut answer and I am sick to death of searching through hundreds of threads trying to find something new to try.

Does ANYONE ANYWHERE have ANYTHING else to try to get the page to render correctly in IE8?

Our company (a multi-billion dollar corporation) is considering buying the Enterprise version of DNN but they will NOT even consider it if we can't even get the free version working correctly.

There is a reasonable amount of evidence that the free version does work.

>>I am using a standard DNN skin.
Do you mean the supplied default skin?

Try setting the site to the use the supplied default skin. If that works then there is some problem with the skin you are using. Does that skin claim to work on 6.1.4?

If there is a problem with the skin then it will help emormously if people can see the problem.

If you cannot tell what's happening with the site in front of you, it's a lot tougher without it in front of you!

Best wishes,

Could you post what skin you are using?

Also did you check if the skin uses an XHTML doctype?

(explained here http://www.40fingers.net/WeblogsNews/...)

My company uses IE8 and I don't have issues with the default skin.

Post more info, maybe even an image, so we can see for ourselves what's happening with your skin.
