Hi,

I am working with the newsletter module to make it suite our needs and I have been trying with limited success to force the text editor to only ever show a plain text area. I have edited the tag to look like this

dnn:TextEditor Width="480" ID="teMessage" runat="server" TextRenderMode="Raw" HtmlEncode="false"
                    defaultmode="Basic" height="200" choosemode="False" chooserender="False"

When users are not logged in (testing purpose) there is only the basic text area. when some users, not all, log in they see the html editor, but then again some see just the basic text area. It is really confusing as to why this is. Is my tag not well formed?

Thanks for the help

Mark

I assume you use FCK editor, right? So issue you have is because permissions for your texteditor defined for different Roles. Look at this screenshots:

  1. You can click "Show custom editor options"
  2. As you see there are different Toolbars and they can be configured for different Roles:
  3. Like this:
Hope this helps.

Editor preference is stored per user - if the user switched to HTML in a another module before, it will get it in your madule as well, unless you block it.

PS: I'd omit the text box and use HTML editor for all users - just with limited toolbars for unauthenticated users. Both, RadEditor and CKEditor provider do support this.
