Hi I have setup dotnetnuke as per this video http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Video-Library/Viewer/Video/19/View/Details/How-To-Install-DotNetNuke-On-Your-Computer.aspx

I have added Network Service under folder security I can see default website under localhost so I know the server is running

when I setup the application in iss I had to add user for connect as so I used my own account when I test it connects correctly

The specified user credentials are valid.

when I try to browse site in ie I get

The website cannot display the page

HTTP 500

Most likely causes:

  • The website is under maintenance.
  • The website has a programming error.

any suggestions

 thanks

Mike

Double check BOTH connection strings in the web.config file and make sure they are pointing to the correct database.

Thanks for the reply I resolved my issue by changing the defaultAppPool to .net 2 as I had previously set it to .net 4 installed fine after this

cheers
