I upgraded from DNN 5.6.7 to 6.1.5 and got no errors. However, when I try to switch the Control Panel in host settings from Iconbar to Ribbonbar, the control panel only shows Admin, Host and Mode. The Mode drop-down is also near Host and not on the right side. The Modules, Pages and the Tools menu items are missing.

I checked the view source in Firebug and no code for them is present. I also tried switching to various skins including Dark Knight, but they all looked the same. So I think this is not a style issue, but the server is not serving these items to the browser.

Any ideas on how to approach this problem?

Had you done an application pool reset or iisreset?

Yes, I have recycled the AppPool, and also clicked Clear Cache and Restart Application in the Host Settings. No improvement.

You may need to manually flush your browser cache - sometimes browsers can hang onto cached items that they really should have released.

I found the problem. The GlobalResources.resx file had gotten left out of the upgrade that was made to the site in the conversion from 5.6.7 to 6.1.5. When I realized this, I uploaded the file and everythings works now.
