I'm not sure how to control what is written on the privacy statement and terms of use links on my website. I am using the default DarkKnight skin and I took out the Copyright 2012 DotNetNuke part.

The remaining part of the HTML code which controls the links to the privacy statement and the terms of use page which comes with the DarkKnight skin is:

<dnn:TERMS ID="dnnTerms" runat="server" /><dnn:PRIVACY ID="dnnPrivacy" runat="server" /><dnn:LINKTOMOBILE ID="dnnLinkToMobile" runat="server" /></div>

I don't know anything about HTML so can someone tell me a way that would allow me to change what is written by Default for the DarkKnight skin under these two links?

Thanks.

Hello,

I think those are localized. So, they are pulled from the languages system.

Go to Admin -> Languages and then edit your site language files. Just search for "terms" and "Privacy" and you'll find their entries.

I can't seem to figure it out. This is what I'm doing and I'm having no success. I go to Host -> Languages -> Site (I click the pencil for the Site setting in the bottom right hand corner) then I go to Local Resources -> Admin -> Portal -> App_Local Resources -> then I get to the files Privacy.ascx but when I go to change them it makes no difference.

What am I doing wrong? What should I do? You suggested searching, how do you accomplish this?

I think it's in the global resources file, not that file you're talking about... it's the file that comes up when you first open the language settings area. If not, it's just under "Global Resources" then "GlobalResources".

By search, I just mean hit "ctrl-F" on your keyboard and start typing "terms". Actually, it looks like it's key is MESSAGE_PORTAL_TERMS... so you could just look for that. It looks to be about 75-80% of the way down on that page.
