aha, there is a known problem client dependeccy where it checks for a domain name using GetDNSHostname - i suspect that not having netbios over tcp/ip caused that issue. We raised this with the client dependency framework team , I will follow up and see what the status is with it

I solved my issue by moving the dnn files outstide of inetpub and starting the process over again. I do recall now the beta had the same issue and I moved the folder and it too started working.

I've got the same error after upgrading from 6.1.2 without any other reported errors. I also have the client Dependency sections, My ZIP doesn't appear to be blocked in any way. I don't have access to permissions on the server, but will ask them to reset full control.

This instance hosts all three of:
www.skcoad.org
www.vashonbeprepared.org
www.vashoneoc.org

The error:
Unable to load default file registration provider

Also (separate issue) all these posts are not line wrapping, on Firefox 12.0 and IE 8 - unless I'm logged out! Do others see this behavior too?

My SUPERB hosting company (shamesless plug for www.WebSecureStores.com) came up with a solution (tonight - on Friday!) that has worked for me.

Others of you might also try adding the following to the fileRegistration section of your web.config:

add name="DnnPageHeaderProvider"
type="DotNetNuke.Web.Client.Providers.DnnPageHeaderProvider,
DotNetNuke.Web.Client" enableCompositeFiles="false"
