Why won't the following code work in my app_offline.htm file? All the text works properly but I can't get the image to display properly. It just appears as a blank and you can see a clear 100x100 border. The code is below -- I put the smiley.gif file in the root directory where the app_offline.htm file resides.

 <html>
    <head>
        <title>
        Website Offline
        </title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <img src="smiley.gif" width="100" height="100" />
        <h2>This website is currently offline</h2>
        <p>
        We are currently performing maintenance on the website. Please check back later.
        </p>

        Thank you for your patience.

        Sincerely,

You need to define at path to the image on your web server

/images/smiley.gif

or the root of your dnn install:

http://localhost/images/smiley.gif

or the image uploaded to your portal:

http://localhost/dnn/portals/0/images/smiley.gif

I tried using all three of your approaches and the image won't show up. I tried using a port number after localhost as well. Is there anywhere you know of that I can read about this topic?

Fred, pathing to web images is really just HTML I don't know where your skill level is at this stage but this might be helpful (or incredibly basic)

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_images.asp

You also need to make sure that image is stored in that location.

Thanks Steven. This is something I will have to figure out. I'm not sure why the path just doesn't seem to work the way I was hoping. I'm sure it'll just be a small change. Thanks for your help though. Appreciate it.
