As I undrestand this core release its a release candidate for test.

Are the modules included in the dl also release candidates ? I havent tested all but I started with Announcements and it seems more to bee an initial beta.

Are there any standard for version numbering to figure out what stage the modules are in. or do I have to read all projects to figure out what stage the modules are in.

As all modules are in the shipment I asume there will bee an upgrade path for all module too in the next official release.

Maybee I have missunderstood something so some clarification would bee nice to get.

Jan,

usually the module status is not equal to the framework status - but this time there had been major changes in the framework and a couple of them also affect the modules, so this is one reason, that so many new module versions were released with the framework.

From my personal point of view I will give a list of the modules' status:

Announcements Does in some installations not interprete html
Blog unchanged
Contacts unchanged
Documents enhanced with additional attributes and options as swell as secure storage support, last minute changed caused caching bug, wait for re-release
Events new, based on AVCalendar
FAQs unchanged
Feedback enhanced, Guestbook function sesems to be planned I could not get it working
Forum enhanced, new: Aggregated Forum
Gallery unchanged
Help new. I only had a short test with a pre-version that had some issues
HTML enhanced with inline editing (I an still searching for a switch to turn it off)
iFrame enhanced with parameters, bugs reported
Links enhanced with secure storage sopport and user profile links
Media enhanced successor of image, AFAIK no bugs reported
News minor changes, no issues
Repository new in download packages. improved, I have not had time for intense testing
Store new, still being improved. not yet ready for international usage
Survey slightly improved
UserDefinedTable improved with XSL renderinng, calculated columns, extended permissions. minor issues reported and be be contained in next version.
UsersOnline unchanged
WhatsNew New, I have not tested it yet
XML unchanged

all modules, that use the URL control are ceasing due to a bug of that control.

Thanks for your answer Leupold.

Couldnt find a forum more suitable for this type of question. And I got a little worried looking at the anouncement module.
