Hi there - Tank you in advance for your time helping me!!

I am trying to upgrade from 5.1.4 to the  most recent DotNetNuke_Community_XX.XX.XX.UPGRADE.zip package as described on this page:

 http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Upgrading-DotNetNuke.aspx

which I believe is 6.2 - As a test I have a clan 2008 Server VM with the full version of SQl Server 2008. When I follow the steps and run the ....../install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade page I get this error:

 Security Exception
Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy.  To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

I have spend a few hours researching he issue and have placed <trust level="Full" /> inside the system.web area of my sites web.config.  Also the trustLevel inside IIS for the site (called IntranetUpgrade) is set to Full.  I have given 'Everyone' full control for the IntranetUpgrade site folder.   Then I read about the trustLevel in the machine.config file.  I can not find this in the file.  I assume its in this location:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\machine.config

I not sure if I should be looking in this path above or the 'Framework' option.  Should it be Framework64 or Framework?

SO im very stuck, please help???

I then tried simply copying my prod 5.1.4 site and getting that running in my 2008 server VM - Same issue

Thank you in advance for your help!!

When I copied copied my current site and the DB from the prod machine to my VM I had this error

it sounds like you have to unblock the zip file first - please see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

Hi Cathal thanks for the advice. As the article suggested the Unblock option of the 'DotNetNuke_Community_06.02.00_Upgrade.zip' file was active. I have unblocked and re-copied the extracted files over the previously copied files but no change.

Sice I has previously copied the blocked upgrade file set I assume unblocking and re-copying should be ok?

Any other ideas?? This machine level config file trustLevel setting I have read about which as explained above I cant find for example...

HI there - OK I have done this and then re-copied the upgrade files over the previously copied files however this did not change anything.

Any other ideas?  What about this machine level config file that I explained above.  As I mentioned I cant find any trustLevel setting here.

Also - Since I am getting the same behavior when simply copying my existing 5.1.4 site to the VM and getting the same error it would imply that the issue is perhaps not with the permissions on the upgrade files

Look forward to more suggestions - Thanking you
