Any other ideas?

I'm not using '05 and my connection string hasn't changed.

My site was working fine and then my host had to migrate to a different server.

Now I get the error when I first hit the site. A second hit works correctly and takes me to my home page.

Hi

I too am getting the same issue. I checked my WebConfig file as you say to do and the settings are quite correct ie they are NOT commented out. I am using SQL Server 2005.

Did a bit of routing around and it seems that I had changed the name attribute for the connection string ie

<Add Name="MyName" connectionStrin .... and this name attribute has to be SiteSqlServer. When I changed the name attribute and the Add Key attribute to SiteSqlServer it all burst into life.

I am sure somewhere it implied or even suggested changing these attributes names but hey ...

What is your DatabaseOwner?  I have seen this error on DNN Systems that are running not dbo as DatabaseOwner.

Matthias

DBO.

Since I changed this I have not had any problems with connectivity just problems with stability ... it seems to crash at the drop of a hat - maybe its because I am using the v4 release - I might go backwards on the release because it seems to be more or less unusable.

Have you upgrade the DatabaseOwner or have you make completly new database?  If you have Upgrade, so any SQL Procedures are wrong!

You can not change the DatabaseOwner on an existing Database!

Regards

Matthias
