DotNetNuke Product: DotNetNuke Community Edition
DotNetNuke Version: 06.01.05 (142)

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I wasn't sure where to put it. If someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it and will move it there.

My users have varying degrees of issues with avatars / profile photo's. Some can upload a picture fine, others will show an error and will be logged out, but the pic is uploaded and will show on the "Edit Profile" page.

No users will be able to see the picture they uploaded on the "View User" page. It will show a RED X (broken image link) superimposed on top of the default question mark on a face pic.

When I, as the host account, view any user's profile page, and I see the red X, a log entry is enter:

Resource Not Found: URL

URL:: FileID=

Server Name: PENNYWORTH

When a general user tries to view their page they also see the red X, however if they try to click the button, "Edit Profile" they are told "You are not authorized to edit this user."  And the page shows, that they are logged out (shows the login and register link in the menu bar)

Concerning permissions I investigated and every folder beneath Users, including Users, has proper permissions. All Users can "Open Files in Folder", "Browse Files in Folder" and "Write to Folder." This is the same for all folders and sub folders under the Users folder.

This may sound minuscule, but I need to make sure that all my users, including newly registered users, can upload avatars/profile pics, and view other user's avatars/profile pics.

Best regards,

Rick

I updated to 06.02.00 (1610) and it still persists. Was hoping that it'd have an affect.

I remember a couple of issues logged for the profile, I suggest upgrading to 6.2.1 which has been announced to be released later this week.

Cheers from Germany,

I understand that this issue is probably low priority for most people but it represents work stoppage for me.

Because of this issue, ALL of my new users are unable to read forum threads that contain topics in which the author has a profile picture, and 90% of our users have a profile picture.

If new users can't use the forums then we are dead in the water.

I have no problem trying new versions, but I can't without a new version, and what if it doesn't contain a fix? My gut is telling me to have another idea to try.

I'm going to have to explain to the people I report to why we are still dead in the water. What can I tell them? Is there any hope left?

I upgraded to 6.2.1 and I am having a similar issue.

When I view their Profile, I can see the picture.

But, when I send a message and the UI starts showing the names as I type, they are all Red X's. Even the ones of users that have profile pictures.
