I'm doing some research for a web application my company wants me to build and I'm not sure that DNN can do what I need it to do.
I need users to grouped a certain hierarchy.
Here is my example.
My company wants to provide services for other companies and give them their own DNN portal
such as http://www.companya.amazingwebsite.com or ttp://www.companyb.amazingwebsite.com
DNN can already do this so it is no big deal. Users from Company A aren't supposed to see data from Company B
and this will work right out of the box.
The following is the list of the things I'm not sure how to handle in DNN.
First, there needs to be some predefined roles that both Company A and Company B can use.
For example, they both need the role of Sales Director. My company needs to define what this role does
and then push that role to both Company A and Company B.
Next, each company could have more than one location.
For example, Company A has offices in New York, Boston, and Miami.
John Smith is user for Company A.
John's role at the New York office is Sales Director and he is allowed to enter and edit all data.
John has Sales Representative who work for him and he needs to manage their access level to the data at the New York office.
John's role at the Boston office is Sales Representative and is allowed to enter and edit data he entered himself
and can only view data from others.
John's role at the Miami office is Employee and is allowed to view data only.
John needs to run reports containing data from all three offices for quarterly reports.

Could I use the group feature in the DNN Social API to do this?
Is there a better way?
