Hello all,

I have a problem that I hope can be solved ASAP. I was setting up a web site for a client that was to replace their old web site. Their old web site was at www.domain-original.com. While developing their new site, I used the domain www.domain-test.com to show them changes and get everything approved. Once everything was ready I had planned to switch their DNS nameservers to my server and add an alias to www.domain-test.com to include www.domain-original.com.

I switched the DNS servers to point to www.domain-test.com's server but then I received a RunTime error. Oddly enough, I can't see what the runtime error is, even if CustomErrors mode is set to "Off". www.domain-test.com was still working properly so I thought that perhaps there was a problem with the aliasing. I set www.domain-test.com to REDIRECT (the default is Canonical), and now it redirects to www.domain-original.com which is still giving me the runtime error, however now I can't access www.domain-test either.

Can someone tell me where in the database I can change the alias back to canonical so I can at least work on the original test site while I figure out what's wrong? Also, am I using the correct procedure for adding an alias? Does anyone have any possible insight into my runtime error?

Regards.

If custom errors did not allow you to see the error that leads me to one of two things. 1.) Incorrect .NET version. 2.) Invalid web.config format/structure.
