I have been using the DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider as my HTML Editor Manager. Today I found some screwy behavior - and it ONLY happens on a remote application, not a localhost application.

I defined a background image for a table via the TABLE properties window, saved it, and it displays. If I click on edit content, the entire background code is gone from the HTML source!

If I switch to TelerikEditorProvider, this behavior is not present.

Also interesting to note how the two editors create the syntax differently.
DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider: background= (non-css)
TelerikEditorProvider: style="background-image (correct css)

Another note: the DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider ALWAYS inserts this colgroup syntax right after the table tag: <colgroup><col /><col /></colgroup>
If I delete it, it just puts it right back. This occurs on both remote and localhost apps.

After further testing I have found this behavior is ONLY present in IE 9. The background stays intact with all current Gecko browsers.

I have finally figured this one out, and keep in mind that it is ONLY an IE9 issue.

If I uncheck any of the Content Filters (located in the default config file in the HTML Editor Manager) then this behavior occurs. This does not matter to IE8 or any gecko browsers but it does to IE9 for some reason.

Not only does it remove the background image syntax of the table, it adds those stupid <colgroup> tags as well.

Issue has been logged at gemini:
