I'm working on a site using the Events module to allow site visitors to sign up for single-occurrence events. I am using version 06.00.02  In the event detail, there are a few items showing that we'd like to either delete, re-word, or change the appearance of.  I looked at the template for the detail view, and the items we want to alter are not a part of the template.  Here's what we'd like to do:

1). First off, it allows users to say how many people are registering for the event, and it asks for the "No. of enrolees" - "enrollees" is the U.S. spelling, and that's where the site is targeted. so I'd like to change that text.
2). Where it allows the user to select "Remind me about this Event @", we'd like to change the wording slightly, make the link look like a button, and completely delete the text box showing the email address being sent to.
3). We'd like to delete everything related to "Remind me about all Events in this series?"
4). We'd like to make "Enroll for this Event" look like a button, and emphasize it more
5). We'd like to de-emphasize the button for "Return"
6). Get rid of the "export series" link
7). Change the wording of the "Export" link
8). ...And generally rearrange things, too.

These all seem to be things that are rather untouchable through the template system.  Is there a way to customize them to this extent?  I realize that these changes may cover several different settings or templates, so I understand that there will probably be a lot of partial responses to this.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Ajessup,

Almost all the things you mention should be possible already.

Remember that DNN has full static localization (localisation?), so you should be able to change all the fixed text elements everywhere in DNN, and notably also in the Events module. We have taken great care to make all text localizable (localisable), and check for this in every new release. Of course, although we are volunteer DNN developers, we are humans and do miss elements sometimes. If you find one, please mention those in the issue list on CodePlex, so we know what and were to correct in the next release.

The Events templating mechanism is unique for the Events module. Unique in the sense that we have developed that specfically for the Events module, and it is not a general DNN feature, although you will find similar mechanisms in other modules. I have suggested to the DNN community to make templating a general mechanism throughout DNN (see this idea Community Voice).

Combine the two (DNN localiz/sation and templating), you should be able to achieve most, if not all, things you mention.
