Hi does anyone know how to set the Events Module (calendar) so that members of one groupc an add events but non-members can't add events?

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom, if you go to the event module settings > Permissions tab, add a tick under Events Editor against the relevant group (and make sure all other users just have view permissions).

I tried, but it doesn't work.

I am an admin and I also have a user who is non-admin, I have two groups set up..

However I try to set the permissions, I can't seem to get it so that a user can view the Calendar, without also being able to add events.

I have tried setting it so that only admins can edit etc, and all others can view the module.

I've also tried it with two different groups, one who can only view the Calendar, one who can View Edit, etc...

But it doesn't work. Anytime somebody can view the module, they can Add events. I don't want that.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

Tom

Even if I put the red X on the Edit column for a group, members of that group (non-admin), can still add an event.

I just can't get it so that someone can view the Calendar, without being able to add events.

HI Tom,

Just to satisfy my own curiosity that the functionality hasn't broken with an upgrade, I tried it with Events 6.0.2 running on DNN 6.2.1 and it does work as expected.

What version of the Events module and DNN are you running?

Also check the page permissions, is Edit Page set to Admins only?
