To The Team

I'm currently trying to resolve an issue with copying & moving my production site of 4 years now, to a new server in a different location. The domain name should remain the same and the IP address will change of course. I have copied all the site files over to the new IIS Server along with the SQL database.  Changes where then made to the new locations site config to reflect SQL Database IP location. When trying the site, I keep getting a "404" error.

I know it has something to do with the new IP address. How do I change this in the database "PortalAlias" from the domain name at the old location to the new ip address of the new location and still keep the domain name viewed by site users?

If there is any other changes required, please let me know?

Thx

Darryl

DNN doesn't keep track of IP addresses with Portal Aliases

What happens if you try the following.

Ping your domain name in a command window, is the IP address that comes back the new IP address?

What if you try to access the domain with /default.aspx on the end, do you still get a 404?

Hi Chris,

Yes I can ping the IP. I tried adding the default.aspx to the URL field in the browser, but I get the same. Should I add the default.aspx to the PortalAlias?
