DotNetNuke 6.2.1 - I followed the Install guidance you provided (http://www.datasprings.com/resource..... ) but it didn't work.  I got the following:

****************************

DotNetNuke Error

Domain Name Does Not Exist In The Database

DotNetNuke supports multiple websites from a single database/codebase. It accomplishes this by converting the URL of the client browser Request to a valid PortalID in the Portals database table. The following steps describe the process:

****************************

I am running Win 2008 R2 with SQL 2008 R2. It appears to install ok, but when you try to access it you get the error above. Since it was configured in IIS as an added application, one cannot associate a domain name with it, you must use localhost/DNN6...but that is when you get the full page error partially shown above.

Can anyone help me with this configuration problem.

Hi

Try this link it worked fine

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/V...

PS: DotNetNuke resources are more reliable then others, and the app_offline.htm file is an empty file that can be modified ?

Look at the record in your portal aliases table and change "localhost/DNN6" to "/DNN6" and see if that helps.

Check the HTTPAlias column in PortalAlias table & check if the url you are triyng is there or not (it should be there) . In case you are accessing it from a different system on the LAN then make an entry for 'YourLocal_IP/websitename' in the PortalAlias table .
