I just installed DNN.  I have a the host portal and one new parent portal.  They are mapped to the same location so the only difference in links to the home page and other things they would have in common is the domain name.  I have been able to log into the new portal but when I try to log out, it doesn't log me out but tries to send me to the host and adds a second copy of the folder in which DNN is set up which, of course = 404 errors.  Also, when I am in the new portal, any pages I make or changes to existing pages, e.g., the home page, show up in the host site's home page.  What do I do to keep them separate?

Thanks.

Create a subdomain for the new portal and recreate it.

i.e you have www mydomain com with the original portal and portal mydomain com for the new parent portal.

Yes. That is what I did.

Try going to

www.easterfire.com

and then to

dev.easterfire.com

They appear to be separate sites - but then mouse over the register and login links on dev.easterfire.com - they are pointed at www.easterfire.com and clicking on them tries to send you somewhere that doesn't exist, repeating the dnn install folder (content)

Hmm - and you have the main site set as www easterfire com and the new parent portal set as dev easterfile com and they point to different folder locations on the host? I have my secondary parent folders set up as subfolders of the main site

i.e.

in the hosting companies control panel I have the domain www pogabacoor org pointed to folder

the secondary parent services pogabacoor org is pointed at folder/subfolder

Hmmmm.  just found out that my host will only let me do a redirect, not actually map the domain to a subdirectory.  Might have to go back to ihost.
