Hi there.

Hoping you lovely DNN experts can give me some guidance here.  We have a site : shortsalerulebook.com that we've buit on DNN.

Currently it has two logins,  one for the homeowner and one for the realtor.  Problem is....  the Realtor's want to sign up as homeowners to "see" the homeowner experience.    When they do this... naturally,  they use their email address.

Well... when they do this....  they can't register on the Realtor side of the site.    The Realtor side consists of a subscription service.

Our developers are telling us there is no way in the logic to allow for someone to register as both a homeowner and realtor with the same email address.

Is there a work around that anyone knows of ?

Your comments / advice is VERY VERY VERY needed and appreciated !

Please keep in mind it's hard to know exactly what's possible since we don't know what your developers have done, how things work, what modules are used, etc. But if your developers are using DNN roles to manage security then it's possible.

Each "account" on DNN can belong to more than one role. In your case:

Realtor = access to realtor tools, pages, modules. This is also how subscriptions and expiry dates can be ,managed.

Homeowner = everyone else

So on account could belong to both the homeowner and the realtor role and have access to everything. No need for two accounts.

I know this because I used to build and manage sites for RV, Marine and Powersports dealerships using Property Agent from Ventrian and that's exactly how we managed it.

DNN has a config setting that allows/forbids multiple accounts with the same email address.

I agree with the point above that your developers may have done somthing that blocks duplicate email addresses.

Surely the realtors are bright enough to create a spare gmail/hotmail/whatever email account that they could use for a second signin?

Have you asked your developers why it looks so terrible in IE9?

Clearly I'm not that sure what it *should* do. Whatever it is it looks to me that it would not do it.
