Hi Michael,

Thanks for the suggestion - this is approximately the same code we use as well.

> To do this is at your own risk. Don't bother me if something goes wrong.

I understand, and this is my real question - are there ONLY problems with legacy third party modules, or are there problems with DNN 6+ core or any of the DNN core modules as well?

We sell an LMS and utilize a very select number of third party modules - all of which I could review for possible conflicts.  However I would like to know if there are any core problems/limitations.

Not having core support for renaming roles, and being told to do so at your own risk, is a limitation that needs to be addressed.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

I can't answer the question. If there are any legacy 3rd party modules, the only roles they touch that I can imagine are the standard roles and roles they create by themselves.

I never had any troubles, but I can't guarantee that for all modules and core functionalities.

Best wishes
Michael

Hi,

Thanks for sharing Michael.

Can anyone on the core team provide more definitive clarifications?

Chris

FYI: I put this question in the Community Exchange. Maybe chances are better that someone from the Core team reacts than here.

Best wishes
Michael
