Hi everyone, I have been working on DotNetNuke the last few months trying to get a big installation off the ground and I have hit a stumbling block that I would do with some help. Whenever I access any page I get the error:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.GetSkin(PageBase page) in D:\Code\GPSL.PS.DotNetNuke\DNNSource\Library\UI\Skins\Skin.cs:line 877

When I attach the debugger the specifics of the message is that '/DesktopModules/DDRMenu/Menu.ascx' cannot be found. The file is definitely there so I do not understand why the LoadControl would return this error. (removing references to the DDR menu in the DarkKnight skin and the admin RibbonBar  in the ControlPanel folder allows the site to load but obviously no menu so no good.

So I banged my head against it for ages, then decided to start with a fresh install, but lo and behold using a fresh install, a fresh database and a fresh browser, I get the same problem and the install can not finish.

Any ideas to help me solve this would be greatly appreciated. For reference I am using Chrome, iis 6, windows xp, sql server 2008 and dotnetnuke 6.2.0

one thing I have notieced is that it only happens when running the site from the localhost, i.e. http://localhost/, but when I switch over and use a virtual directory the problem goes away
