Hi,

I hope someone can help me with a SEO / URL question.

Currently my URLs look like this:
www.domain.com/da-dk/gettingstarted.aspx

I would like them to look like this:
www.domain.com/da-dk/getting-started.aspx or www.domain.com/da-dk/getting_started.aspx

With the hyphen/dash/underscore in the URL. As you can see I'm using localization. Can anyone tell me how to achieve this? I've searched the webs and forums but couldn't find anything helpful.

Before I enabled localization the URLs looked like this:
www.domain.com/getting_started.aspx

DNN Setup Details:

  • DotNetNuke Community Edition
  • Version 06.02.00 (1610)
  • .NET 3.5
  • Fresh install (Typical) - not upgrade
  • Using the DarkKnight DNNMega skin thingymabob

Jones - not sure how you got your Urls to include an underscore before enabling the localization?

I sell a commercial product that achieves this (Url Master) - you can check that out with a trial version if you think it would suit:

There might be some hacks you can do to include the hyphens with the standard provider, but these will involve modifying the database directly and might impact system stability.

@Bruce Chapman

Thanks for replying Bruce!

The default installation as described in the DNN Setup Detail above included a bunch of pre-configured test pages. These pages had URLs in the way that I would like mine to be.

I think it's a bit weird that it's not a default setting in DNN - or perhaps to assign a page a custom URL. Maybe I'll make the change to the code myself - I'd just rather not have any customizations on this particular setup!
