It is DNN 6.2, I believe, I'm familier with jumla not DNN, I found it easy to use when I got the task so I did not go through the tutorials. It started with  me trying to update the news page which, it dissapeared from the menu, however I believe it was because I have used  "added  the existing page", that is why It appeared on the home page because the contents were still there when I clicked the banners on the home page. When I could not retrieve it(the news page) cause it was not on the recycle bin I created a new one and a new module and tried to copy the contents to it didn't work, the news page was now appearing on the home page. The home page contents were only available to  admini  and asked me for a log in for other users.

I disabled the the news copied on the "home page" and the contents began to apper(home page banners) but only to admin again but not to all, so I figured it is because of everything that is on the home page that is making the home page not appear to all so I deactivated the Pages, page which now was at the bottom of the home page with the news contents. The home page now I appeard but the Pages pages cannot be found and I need it to correct  the things I've done. I cannot find it anywere ! I was not aware that even if I did not delete the page it would dissapear.

Please HELP!

Hi Lindi,

Firstly, take a deep breath, exhale gently and don't panic! Nothing "disappears" unless you delete it and then it will be in the recycle bin.

I'm wondering if part of the problem here is that you are sometimes in View Mode instead of Edit Mode. Always make sure that you are in Edit Mode (see top right of your screen) when editing pages etc.

If people have to log in to view certain areas, then it's likely that the permissions for the page or module concerned are not set for Unauthenticated Users, so check out the permissions for the relevant areas.

Hope that helps, otherwise if you can post a link to the site we might be able to get a better idea of what's gone wrong.

Hi Lindi,

Going back to the subject of your original post, if you mean by "deactivated" that you made a page disabled (and therefore you can't navigate to it), then go to Admin > Page Management, find and select the page in the tree. From there you can make changes to the page properties or right click the page and select View Page and then you can make the changes.
