Hi

Im updating my DotNetNuke frome version 4.xx to 6.xx. I have user controls module with .dnn file in it from the older DNN project (version 4.xx) and I want to install that modlue to the newest DNN.

What is the best way to do that? The newest DNN has changed from the older DNN install procedure.

thanks

you should be able to install from Host > Extensions.
make sure you are in Edit mode, and select "Extension Install Wizard" from the module action menu.

I get this error when I go to Extenstion installation wizard

Invalid File Extension - fileName.dnn

Any idea?

very strange, there should be an option to install legacy packages as well. You may upload the package to /install/module folder of your dnn installation and trigger install process by calling /install/install.aspx?mode=installresources.
