Hi

After I have upgraded DNN the useres can still access /Install/InstallWizard.aspx. Is there a specific way that I should be hiding this from the users? Or can I just delete the file? My understanding is that it's not actually required to perform an upgrade.

When I navigate to this page it changes the machine key in the configuration to seems to be quite a bit security issue. I've tried browsing to it on many other DNN sites and none of them have allowed it to be accessed.

Any suggestions regarding the access to this file would be much appreciated.

 Nolan

Nolan,
as long as there are no upgraded DNN files or new extension package zip files, calling installwizard will not perform any action.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

When browsing the Install folder I can't see any zip files at all in there and I can certainly browse to the to that page and it starts the install process.

Is there any reason why I could not just remove this file? I can't see that I'd need to use it. To install packages we use the install.aspx, but not the InstallWizard.aspx.

Thanks

Nolan

you may remove it, but in my install, calling it after a succesful install or upgrade just takes me to the home page.

Thanks Sebastian,

If that's the case, I'll try some further testing.
