Hello.

How can i change the profile page for old DNN sites that have been updated to 6.2.3 ?

I still see

http://www.websiteold.com/UserProfile/tabid/42/userId/1/Default.aspx

instead of

http://www.newwebsite.com/ActivityFeed/tabid/60/userId/1/Default.aspx

Thanks

Costas

Hi Costas,

I had a similar issue when I moved to 6.2...

What I found was that the user profile stuff is just done with a series of tabs and good use of the console and view profile modules. So, under your user profile page, you add an "Activity" page, for example. Then, on your new activity page, you add a view profile module with just the user's picture, the journal module, and a console module... it's that sort of thing just repeated a bunch of times.

The console module has a setting where you choose it's mode. As you'll see, in this case, you just pick that it's for the user profile. Then, it behaves as you'd expect to be the profile menu. Beyond that, there's just a lot of re-adding the view profile module and putting in the template you want.

Hope this helps and makes sense,

Mike

Thanks Mike,

No problem... maybe this will help too... I think I took all of this basically from the default setup... but here's my "User Profile" page and my "Activity" page...

User Profile Tab

(View Profile Module 1)
(Console Module 1)
(View Profile Module 2)

Activity Tab

(View Profile Module 1)
(Console Module 1)
(View Profile Module 2)
(Journal Module 1)

Modules

User Profile Module 1:

 • Uncheck "Include Edit Button"
 • This Template:
 •

[HYPERLINK:EDITPROFILE]

[HYPERLINK:MYACCOUNT]

User Profile Module 2:

 • Uncheck "Include Edit Button"
 • This Template:
 •

[USER:DISPLAYNAME]

Well i see how it is done in a sample local installation i made.

BUT i fail to understand how i can replicate this. Reading your details and also this made things worst. I'm confused.

I made a new page for testing, and made that a Profile from Site Settings. Then i added 3 instances of View Profile and 1 instance of Console.

Then how do i create the rest "child" Activity, Messages, Friends ?

I feel ashamed .... lol
