Hi,

Hope anyone has a solution for this...

I upgraded a dnn 4.8 site to 6.2.3 (it is running as a virtual app under the default website), I upgraded AD provider to 5.0.4.

Everything works file except auto login. I followed the codeplex instructions and checked a bunch of other stuff.

Now my error, when browsing to /admin/security/windowssignin.aspx I get  the following error:

Compilation Error
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationController' is not defined.

Source Error:

Line 41:
Line 42: If Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER").Length > 0 Then
Line 43: Dim objAuthentication As New DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationController
Line 44: objAuthentication.AuthenticationLogon()
Line 45: End If

Source File: D:\Websites\secretdirectory\admin\security\WindowsSignin.aspx.vb Line: 43

I am not much of a programmer, but there seems something missing so any ideas?

Thanks, Peter

Some additional information. When I compare the source for windowsSignin.aspx.vb in my installation with the source in the codeplex trunk, they are vastly different. In the AD installer package (5.0.4) there are no sources for windowsSignin.aspx.vb, only the aspx.
Can someone shed some light on this?

Peter

Peter, have a look into Resources.zip - I see a file windowsSignin.aspx.vb on top level.

OK I now see this is old stuff I should probably remove and check the /DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/windowssignin.aspx. Sorry for the confusion.

However, auto login still does not work, I get a windows login box, athough the user is logged in the domain and part of the users of the site.

W2003, IIS6, not sure what to check next...

Peter

Peter, the site needs to be in your trusted or intranet sites list on your local computer. Then you won't get the Windows login box (unless you're using Firefox in which there's another work around). This is a function of IIS and not the provider.
