We are trying to upgrade the navigation provider for our client from the Solpart Menu to the DNNNav menu in DotNetNuke 5.6.8.

We are experiencing an issue where Chrome and Safari calculate the "fly out" menu's off our drop down menus incorrectly.  There is a large gap between the drop down menu and the "fly out" menu.

I've done the following in an attempt to address the issue to no avail

  1. Removed all menu styles.
  2. Removed skin.css.
  3. Removed all html markup except for the DNNNav tag and the ContentPane.

Note: IE & Firefox work properly.

Thanks in advance.

You should upgrade to DDR menu, not to NAV.

NAV is legacy too now...

Thank you for the reply.  Assuming that we have to stay with the DNN Nav menu, can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Thank you.

DDR is the new default menu for DNN, it comes with DNN 6 or you can install it as an add-on for DNN 4/5.
NAV menu us not being developed any more and it does not use standards compliant HTML/CSS, which is  why you have issue in newer browsers.

BTW DDR menu can be used as a "drop in" replacement for both Solpart and NAV, check out the documentation in the WIKI.

If you really want to stay with NAV, prepare yourself for issues in the future with other browsers.
(I never used NAV as it's not XHTML compliant, so I cannot help you with the CSS issue)
