Hi,

We have a DNN 6.2.3, with AD 5.0.4 provider, on a Windows 2003 + IIS 6 + NET 3.5 + SQL 2005.

We've set DNN to have mixed authentication: users from outside will have access to public web pages and wull be able to login with username & password, but users at local network will get logged automatically on AD.

  • We've correctly installed AD provider, with it's beautiful green screen, saying that everything is alright and that the DNN portals reachs AD.
  • We've managed to get public access to website.
  • But we can't get the autologin feature. In fact, we don't even get the AD login from the DNN login page: we enter username (as DOMAIN\user) and password but the login fails. However, if I go directly to http://mydomain.com/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx I get the windows login popup and I can log into the portal with my AD credentials.

I'm sure we're forgetting something, and have reviewed the whole process, but I'm not able to find what have I missed. Can anyone help, please?

TIA,
Francisco

I'm in the same boat. Been at it for about a week and auto login just doesn't work, on 2008 R2 here. Good luck.

Sorry, this one slipped past me on the 1st. What settings do you have set for the provider? It sounds like you may have the "Hide Login Controls" checked in the settings. That shouldn't stop the automatic login but would explain why you're not seeing the Windows Login when logging in.

No, "Hide Login Controls" is not checked. My problem is not just autologin, but the AD login doesn't work: I can only log throught AD if I go directly to http://mydomain.com/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx.

We've tried to insert the auto-login IP addresses 127.0.0.1 (for anonymous access) and one of our local AD computer, but the DNN portal doesn't log in throught AD.

I'm actually having a similar problem. Although i can login via the login control, Auto-Login does not work on my DNN 6.2.3 installation with AD-provider v 5.0.4!

It DID work before upgrading the ad provider which i think is a bit strange (v 5.0.2 was used).
