Hi all,

we have one DNN tourism portal called welcometooman and it is running good. Now We have planned to create separate application called "Tourism Directory". We are providing this ASP.net application as a service for our website. So we need to configure this application under our welcometooman portal as virtual directory or a application. Means we need to browse our tourism directory like www.welcometooman.com/tourismDirectory/       .But i couldn't able to do this. I dont want to configure this on any  port , like welcometooman.com:800 .

Please help me.

I would solve it like this: Use a different C-Name for the application, e.g. directory.welcometooman.com or td.welcometooman.com - so setup a new virtual server on your IIS with that host header and install the application there. Do not use a (physical) subdirectory of your DNN directory, because you can get a lot of trouble with inheriting settings from the DNN web.config-file. Then create a virtual directory (also in IIS management) on www.welcometooman.com (www.welcometooman.com/tourismdirectory) that redirects to this application.

Best wishes
Michael

you may create a second IIS web site, bound to your dedicated (sub)domain name. by using host headers you don't need to use different ports - unless you are using same domain name and SSL.
