Hi folks,

Im new to DNN. And Im using DNN5.0 version. I have a DNN site used inside an intra-network. There is a discussion forum module available in this site, which contains forum w.r.to groups(ex., HR group, IT group), the settings of this module has got view rights as by default to all users and manage rights for some user groups, when i changed the settings in disucussion forum for a specific group it affects all the group inside that forum.

All I want is, I want to create a disucussion forum, where One forum topic will approved/rejected by a moderator & the approved topic will be only visible to a given user group. Is that possible?

Immediate help would be appreciated.

It is all possible on DNN Forums.  You can set the Forum on the admin Dashboard to a moderated Forum and sett the permissions for the Group roles you want.

I am not sure if there is a complete instruction availible on the wiki, but this is the place you should look first.

Thanks Matthias... I have created a forum assigned user roles accordingly. Now I have got a new query that once I configured a forum, it will containing N number of topics under this. Now if I want to restrict the user to view the individual topic in it.. Is that possible...

Permissions could only set by forum or subforum from a Forum Administrator.  So it is not possible to set permissions by each thread.

Hi Matthias, Thanks a lot for your reply. I am totally agree with you... Could you guide me any forum modules for DNN having the feature to set permission to thread level. If not, should I take this as a limitation of forum module in DNN.
