Hi,

I will keep it as short as possible. First my sittuation then my questions.

I use GoDaddy as my hosting service. On their control panel you can select DNN (Vers 3) as a value add which I did. I designed my web page and it is now complete. My domain name is xxxx.com but to access my site I had to re-direct to xxxx.com/DotNet for the default page to come up.

a) Is the redirect a standard issue with GoDaddy or can I move the root to xxx.com ?

b) I included the module to show registered and online users. It shows the registered users but not the online users. I have the same problem with the Survey module, it works and it does not work. Some users can access and vote and others not. All are logged as registered users. Did I miss something here ?

c) When a user log's in no mail with a verification code is sent. How do I setup my site to use my mail account to send this mail AND can the messages in these pages be configured ?

d) Why can I not see the folders etc.. when I FTP to GoDaddy, it tells me that the folders does not exist, yet I access them with my browser ? (Waiting for GoDaddy to answer this one)

e) Last one, the CSS style sheet. It says that I need to enable my host to be able to use it. If possible can you please explain how I get this done as the current font on the site is very small and to change it manually won't help (i think as the skin will over ride it again).

Thanks. I refered these questions to GoDaddy and they said that they could not assist me with these so any help will be appreciated.

My site address is ww.ozzyfx.com

Thanks,

Mike

Excellent questions.
Have you heard back from GoDaddy on them? I am particularly interested in A and D.

I am struggling with the same issue. I cannot find a way to redirect to the DNN folder. Did you try to re-install it at the root i.e www.xyz.com?

Is that even possible? I am just worried that it may create a folder by than name and do something like www.xyz.com/www.xyz.com.

I hate to uninstall and try this 'cause I will lose my work. Let me know please if you have tried this and it works.

Thanks

I had this same issue so I called them - had to call 3 times to get an answer - this is what they told me:

"Because the dotnetnuke install is on a different server than my hosting account, the only way to access my website is to include the folder name in the url. In order to get to the website by entering my regular url (xxx.com instead of xxx.com/xxx) I would have to add a re-direct to my index file script on the hosting server that refers to the virtual server where my dotnetnuke directory is located."

You could also just create an index page with a link and an image or something that says "enter here". But basically you have to do something to get from one place to the other. Hope this helps.
