Glad you got it figured out. You should only need to "get latest" from TFS if it has changed in TFS by another developer, or via another machine, not every time you open the project (I think you figured that out already)

1. I would think that it would be good to CHECK IN to TFS every time I complete a signifcant stage in the project (which would basically not-quite correspond to completing one of your videos).

I would then immediately do a CHECK OUT FOR EDIT to start the ball rolling on the next stage of the project. Does this not make sense ???

2. Also, it sounds like GET LATEST is not the most sophisticated option to use, in your opinion. But will it not work ??? All I'm concerned with doing is getting ALL the code I need and checking it out for edit.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, CHRIS.

Chris, I want to be sure I understand how CODEPLEX and TFS are synched up:

Since Team Explorer is telling me I'm hooked up to TFS.CODEPLEX.COM\TFS12, apparently that is the node that CODEPLEX accesses also, so that whenever I "check in" to my project TASKMANAGER at that address, the check-in also simultaneously updates CODEPLEX.

In fact, that location (TFS.CODEPLEX.COM\TFS12) actually is CODEPLEX...

So whenever I check-in to this location, I'm actually checking in to CODEPLEX, so there's no additional update to source-code needed in this video lesson (12).

Is this correct ???

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, CHRIS.

Chris, this TFS stuff reminds me of an old saying: "Everything is easy, as long as you know what you're doing..." ; - )

Once I figured out that the "Check out for edit" step is the first step in every new iteration, it all follows logically.

The only problem I see with it is that you have to remember to "ADD" new files. I'm sure that will bite me one of these days, but I'm not worried about it right now.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Jeff
