Can someone explain to me what this actually does/mean? I would think that if the IsVisible for a tab is set to false, the tab should no longer be visible. However, this doesn't seem to be the case.

Tabs that are visible on our website can have their IsVisible set to false in the database and tabs that are not visible on our website can have their IsVisible set to true. It just seems to be completely random and have no meaning.

Gareth,

The "IsVisible" column refers to the "Include in menu" option found in the page settings. 1 means the page is included in the menu (as long as the parent page is); 0 means the page is not included in the menu.

You may have pages (formerly known as "tabs") that you do not want to be included in the menu, but you want to be able to link to that page from somewhere (as the Serach Results page, or pages that are somewhere deeper in the hierarchy).

If you do not want that the page can be accessed by any user (except site and host administrators), you have to manage this in the oage permission settings.

The behaviour you describe looks like you changed the setting in the database itself (not in the DNN interface). If you do so, you have to clear the cache (in the "Tools" section of the ribbon at the top, I think you need host privileges for this). Otherwise there could be some outdated information in the cache.

Anyway: It is not recommended to work directly in the database, only via the API (DNN interface).

Best wishes
Michael
